TLC CURRICULUM

The TLC Curriculum is based on the Common European Framework.

TLC SCHOOL CURRICULUM

The TLC School curiculum has the objective of ensuring your child attains A2 CEFR level by the time they complete primary school. Achieving this ensures your child will atain proficiency by the time they are in Terminal.

CYCLE 1 (CP)

This is a 1 year course designed to present the 44 English sounds and ensure that the students know how to produce them.

CYCLE 2-1 (CE1)

This is the first year of a four year program designed to bring students up to A2- of the CEFR and validate their level officially. They will learn and revise all the 44 sounds as well as learn at word level how to make a simple sentence. At the end of this year students should be A1- CEFR LEVEL. Students if they wish should be able to validate this level by taking the Cambridge Starters exam.

 

CYCLE 2-3 (CM1)

This is the third year of a four year course designed to bring students up to A2 level of the CEFR and validate their level officially. They will revise all previous learning intentions and learn how to make open questions and answer in compound and complex sentences.At the end of this year students should be A1+/A2- CEFR LEVEL.Students if they wish should be able to validate this level by taking the Cambridge Flyers exam.

CYCLE 2-2 (CE2)

This is the second year of a four year program designed to bring students up to A2 of the CEFR and validate their level officially. They will revise all previous learning intentions and learn how to make negative and interrogative sentences as well as learn how to form the comparative and the superlative structures. At the end of this year students should be A1 CEFR LEVEL.Students if they wish should be able to validate this level by taking the Cambridge Movers exam.

CYCLE 2-4 (CM2)

This is the last year of a four year program designed to allow students to validate the A2 level of the CEFR at the end of the academic year. They will be revising all previously learned material and will be learning how to read longer texts and write a short paragraph of 25-35 words. Students will be prepared to sit the Cambridge ESOL A2 exam.
